Personnel
The primary project personnel is a group of researchers in library and information science (LIS) located at three iSchools across the US who are interested in understanding how members of marginalized groups actually use library catalogs. In particular, we want to understand how the language of the users intersects with the language of the catalog. Our goal is to ultimately improve user experience for marginalized users. We hope to do this by applying our expertise in knowledge organization (KO) to the problem of social justice for marginalized users. This project was awarded the National Leadership Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to support ongoing research.
